Description of Services:
The Santa Clara County Public Health Laboratory services the fourth largest county in the state of California serving over 1.7
million residents.
Testing services offered by our laboratory include: bacteriology - for both enteric organisms and special pathogens, mycology, parasitology, serological testing for syphilis,
blood lead testing, HIV screening and confirmation, and the identification of chlamydia and gonorrheae using molecular technology. In addition, the Santa Clara County Public Health Laboratory
offers environmental testing services which include: water testing for bacterial contamination, food testing, as well as, tick speciation and testing for Borrelia burgdorferi (Lymes Disease).
