The County of San Diego, Public Health Services is seeking a highly qualified individual to perform duties as an expert Water Biologist. The Water Biologist will be tasked with:
Performing a wide variety of specialized and routine laboratory analyses including microbiology, immunology, serology, virology, parasitology, slide-stains, and molecular biology.
Performing microbiological analysis of specimens to determine the presence of indicator bacteria such as E. coli and enterococci.
Performing routine quality control.
Assisting in the preparation of procedure and safety manuals.
Preparing reagents used in test performance.
Performing routine equipment maintenance and calibration.
Entering test results into computer terminals.
Maintaining and ordering lab supplies.
